Red Zone Turned Into a Fortress

The Red Zone, home to Pakistan’s most vital institutions including the Prime Minister’s Office, the Supreme Court, and foreign embassies, was transformed into a high-security fortress. Entry points were barricaded with shipping containers and barbed wire, while law enforcement officers were stationed at every critical juncture. The Interior Ministry emphasized that these measures were essential to protect sensitive installations and maintain public order.

Bugti added that intelligence reports indicated the possibility of agitators attempting to infiltrate the protest to create chaos, hence the need for stringent measures.

PTI leaders, however, criticized the government’s response, accusing it of suppressing democratic freedoms. In a press conference, senior PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi condemned the heavy-handed tactics. “This government is using state machinery to silence political opposition.
